  1. Dalar K says:

    Ingredients:

    1/2 pound elbow macaroni
    3 tablespoons butter
    3 tablespoons flour
    1 tablespoon powdered mustard
    3 cups milk
1/2 cup yellow onion, finely diced
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
    1 large egg
    12 ounces sharp cheddar, shredded
    1 teaspoon kosher salt
    Fresh black pepper
    Topping:
    3 tablespoons butter
    1 cup panko bread crumbs

    Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large pot of boiling, salted water cook the pasta to al dente.

While the pasta is cooking, in a separate pot, melt the butter. Whisk in the flour and mustard and keep it moving for about five minutes. Make sure it’s free of lumps. Stir in the milk, onion, bay leaf, and paprika. Simmer for ten minutes and remove the bay leaf.

Temper in the egg. Stir in 3/4 of the cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Fold the macaroni into the mix and pour into a 2-quart casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese.

Melt the butter in a saute pan and toss the bread crumbs to coat. Top the macaroni with the bread crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and rest for five minutes before serving.

Remember to save leftovers for fried Macaroni and Cheese.

Add extra butter( 1 Tablespoonn) and 1 cup of milk. That will keep it from drying out in the oven.

        1/2 tablespoon olive oil
        Salt
        8 ounces elbow macaroni
12 ounces shredded white cheddar cheese
12 ounces shredded sharp (yellow) cheddar cheese
        2 eggs
        1 cup milk
        Cooking spray
        Pepper

        1) In medium saucepan half full of water, add olive oil and a pinch of salt; bring to boil.
        2) Cook elbow macaroni about 8-10 minutes, until tender. Drain and set aside.
        3) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
        4) Mix cheeses in a bowl until well-blended; set aside.
        5) In a small bowl, beat eggs.
        6) Add milk and continue beating until mixed well; set aside.
        7) Spray bottom and sides of a 2-quart casserole dish with cooking spray. 8) Spread an even layer of about 1/3 of the macaroni in the bottom of the dish.
        9) Follow with a layer of about 1/3 of the cheese mixture; sprinkle with a little salt and
        pepper.
        10) Repeat this layering 2 more times, ending with cheese and salt and pepper on top. Pour
egg/milk mixture over the top, distributing evenly. Bake 50 minutes or until cheese is
        golden brown.
